Winner of The Queens Awards For Enterprise: Innovation 2019 | Metro Security - Romford Security Services

Metro Security (GB) PLC, which celebrated its 40th trading anniversary last year, has been honoured with a 2019 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category. The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious annual awards for UK businesses, recognising and celebrating business excellence across the UK.

Metro Security has demonstrated its outstanding success in the field of innovation through the in-house development of its Metro Analytic Retail Solution (M.A.R.S), a software analytics-based system that combines significant loss prevention capabilities along with a range of complementary retail management, operational, marketing and staff training tools.

The multi-functional M.A.R.S system uses innovative digital technology to provide retailers with an effective and – importantly – a cost-efficient, value-added way to improve their increasingly pressured bottom-line profitability. In today’s online era the retail environment for physical stores is an intensifying challenge. Faced with tough trading conditions on the High St, many retailers simply do not have the budgets to pay for systems that address security risks alone. M.A.R.S provides the ideal solution to this dilemma, while also helping to pay for itself.

“Our prestigious 2019 Queen’s Award for the innovative M.A.R.S system is a tremendous boost for Metro Security’s loyal staff, who’ve worked tirelessly to bring its wide ranging benefits to market and thereby help our growing customer base in the retail sector,” comments Metro’s MD, Trevor Wallace.

“This Award recognises our team’s valued commitment and we’re very proud to be honoured in this way. The news follows our 2013 and 2015 Havering Business Awards success, as well as a number of other awards and commendations for both M.A.R.S and a variety of other systems and services that we provide, and it sets the seal on our plans for future expansion of the company.”

M.A.R.S is already helping a cross-section of retailers including forecourt fuel operators’ retail shops, high street stores and independent retailers, while also monitoring multiple stores and sites simultaneously. One well-known High St chain has delivered a 70% reduction in losses and a 65% reduction in audit costs across hundreds of its outlets around both the UK and some 20 other European countries using M.A.R.S.
