Steve Coleman joins in boost for Metro Security’s customer care team

Steve Coleman has been appointed to award-winning Metro Security (GB) Plc’s surveying and sales team. He joins the fast expanding security and fire systems provider at an exciting time, following the firm’s prestigious 2019 Queen’s Award for its innovative M.A.R.S retail system.

Steve has already benefited from a comprehensive induction training programme, overseen by Metro Security’s longstanding UK Project Consultant and Sales Manager, Richard Meakins, designed to bring him up to speed with the latest systems standards, equipment capabilities and service requirements. This complements Steve’s hands-on specialist systems design and surveying experience at previous security companies, of which he’s now using to benefit Metro’s clients in both the commercial and residential protection markets.

Founded in 1978, Metro Security’s diversified service portfolio includes intruder alarms, fire detection, building management and access control, and CCTV surveillance, together with systems monitoring capabilities using an in-house 24/7 manned facility at its Romford, Essex, HQ.

As an NSI (National Security Inspectorate) Gold level-accredited company, Metro also holds ISO9001 quality management systems standard certification and over recent years the company has successfully diversified into the retail, education and forecourt fuel sectors.

Utilising technology first developed for its core security markets, including automatic number plate and facial recognition, Metro Security won a 2019 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category with its M.A.R.S system (Metro Analytic Retail Solution).

The multi-functional M.A.R.S system combines demonstrable loss prevention results to combat shop-floor ‘shrinkage’ issues, whilst simultaneously providing stores with a range of complementary added-value retail management, operational, marketing, customer care and staff training tools.
