For the third successive year our Metro Analytic Retail Solution (M.A.R.S) has been shortlisted in the prestigious national Retail Systems Awards. Following Metro’s nomination in the 2018 ‘Retail security initiative of the year’ and 2019 ‘In-store technology of the year’ categories, M.A.R.S has now been nominated in not just one, but two categories for 2020.
As well as competing again for ‘In-store technology of the year’, which aims to identify a new in-store technology that has the ability to significantly improve a retailer’s operations, M.A.R.S has also been shortlisted in a brand new category: ‘Data and Analytics Provider of the Year’, an award for companies creating the missing link between retailers and their customer data.
The winners of all those shortlisted will be announced at an Awards Ceremony scheduled to take place at The Waldorf Hilton in London on 19th October.
“Being nominated in any category for the Retail Systems Awards is an honour, but to be in the running for two this year makes us very proud,” comments Metro Security MD Trevor Wallace. “This news follows on from our 2019 Queen’s Award for M.A.R.S and a separate win for the system in this year’s London final of the Federation of Small Businesses’ Celebrating Small Businesses Awards, where we’re going on to the national finals.
“M.A.R.S also now has three brand new modules, developed by our in-house R&D team to help a range of businesses deal with Covid-19 requirements. The People Counting system fully automates the process of ensuring that pre-set occupancy levels are maintained, for example at supermarkets, larger stores and other retailers that need to safeguard customer distancing measures. It complements our Temperature Monitoring system, which can be used on its own or in conjunction with our proven Facial Recognition system, and both of these systems offer staff and customer protection for a wide range of premises including utilities, distribution, public buildings, health facilities and commercial establishments.”
