Metro Security’s latest biometric solutions for the education sector, including facial recognition-based access control systems, are being demonstrated on the company’s stand at the Bett show in January 2019 (from 23-26 January).
Developed in-house by the company, this biometric technology now provides cost-effective and reliable opportunities to benefit from the improved security, safety and ease of use provided by facial detection. This includes enhanced door entry, doing away with the need for cumbersome and potentially vulnerable keypad PINs, for instance. The benefits include improved safeguarding and duty of care towards students, teaching staff working on site, and a range of visitors to education facilities.
Metro Security is the leading fire, security and building management services provider in the education field and will be back at the 2019 Bett education show for the sixth success year in January, on stand 160, demonstrating its expertise as the educated choice in this sector. Being held at the ExCeL venue in London, Bett is the world’s biggest education technology event.
Metro’s staff will also be showing visitors how other systems ranging from cost-effective digital CCTV, intruder alarm protection and fire detection can be integrated to provide a combination of cost-efficient and demonstrably effective protection. This equipment can also be interfaced with other building management systems to exploit a variety of operational advantages that help pay for themselves – through measurable energy use reductions, for example.

Technology answers
Education providers may have different expectations from their security solution compared to a home or business. Intruder alarms, CCTV and door access control all play a part in safeguarding your school, teachers and students against unwanted visitors. Here at Metro it doesn’t matter if you’re a small primary school or a multi site campus wanting a complete security system and maintenance package – we have technology solutions to meet all requirements.
Access control measures, for instance, can track and restrict access for staff and pupils around your building, and even link to your CCTV system for visual verification. Using high definition IP cameras your surveillance system can be scalable, reducing the amount of equipment that is required but overall getting a better view of any incident.
Besides security, Metro designs, installs, commissions and maintains fire alarm systems of all sizes. All Metro fire detection systems are carefully tailored to suit every school’s needs, right down to heat detectors in science labs rather than smoke detection. As well as complying with appropriate standards, our fire systems combine the latest technologies and can be integrated, as required, with other building security and IT systems, enabling customers to enhance their security systems on a step-by-step basis.
